Think of it like a business. Why should I buy a shoddy, big name product (candidate A) because it is less shoddy than the other big name product (candidate B) if a great, less well-known product (write-in or third party candidate C) is available?

Because candidates don't matter - party matters.
A this party just that - the least powerful party of the three.
I used to believe in 3rd parties - but no longer.
Not feasible in my lifetime.
