It simply isn't a good wagering card.

Late P6 and P5 that leads into the Belmont Stakes is 6x5x13x5x10x8.

In those fields you have ML favorites of 1/2, 6/5, and 3/5. To make a play in the P6 or P5, you'll likely need to single 2 legs, if not 3 to make any kind of valuable play.

If the G1 Jaipur and G1 Manhattan chalk-out, it will be some woeful payouts unless something off the wall happens.

2014 was when this mega Belmont card came about as the Met Mile used to be held on a different date. In 2014 when Palace Malice won, there were 12 that ran in the Met Mile. Since 2014, there have been the following entrants in the Met Mile: 12, 10, 10, 12, 11, 9, 8, 6. And now 5.

The decline has been sharp over the last 4 years.
