I love Domestic Product in this race. You know, Chad's "other" entry. Our reigning champion jockey is aboard, and he's ticked he didn't get a better steed. Hasn't won a derby yet. He's going to show em. They'll be sorry.

He will rightfully be a longshot, but I've been running the same numbers every year since 2018 that have come up with the winner from the top 8 horses its produced. Mystik Dan is the first longshot that has been a 'perfect qualifier' since I started doing this. I think it speaks more to the fact that there isn't much between 50% of the entrants than it does to him actually having a huge chance at the win, but I figure he's worth using

$200 to win and place on Sierra Leone is my current plan. Unless he starts acting up of course. I'll have an eye on him pre-race and if he gets goofy I'll cut it down, or if it gets sloppy once again cut it down, there's racing the next day, even the same night for that matter.
In addition to acting up pre-race I also worry about the wall of noise during the race and possibly cutting across the entire field down the stretch to get away from it all but hey with this many horses it's risky no matter who you play.
I respect the favorite but wouldn't want to bet on him in here. Everyone else I think is stabbing hoping for a lot of things to happen but the prices will be there... everyone is hoping for that big forward move which usually ends up winning it an awful lot of the time. Once you go down that rabbit hole though probably a half dozen horses have some shot.

I'm an exacta guy in the KD. With 20 horses I can't imagine picking the first 4.

I plan on a large conditional Win bet on , Fierceness if I get 2/1 or better.
As far as the Verticals go it looks wide open -
Im leaning on the following Exactas (In order of preference):
- - W/ -
(6 combinations)
Im leaning on the following Triple combinations:
- - W/ - - - W/ - - -
(6 x 9 = 54 combinations)
Any future modifications will be made based on the final tote analysis.
GL with your Derby selections.

I'm not a big bettor and I'm not going to kill myself trying to win. I want to score, even if it's just a little bit. If Fierceness wins, congratulations to the favorite.
$2 Exacta Box:
Good luck to all!

I'll have my wager in after I can see the pools before the race. It won't be a post time decision, but 1/2 hour before the race. One thing I do know is I'll bet an exacta box around $20
