June 6th 2022 Gas prices poll
I’ve always said $5 a gallon is a psychological barrier that will be a real game changer.
Hearing reports of $5 a gallon in places like Kentucky.
I thought it would be a good time for a new poll.
$4.45 here in Houston
Some places like Sam’s are still $4.3x

The national average has gone up 27 of the last 28 days.
Over the last week it went up over 25 cents.
In another week the national average will be over $5.

When Joe got installed I said we'd see 5 buck gas. Today $5.10 NE Ohio. Let's Go Brandon... Come On Big Guy cancel some more pipelines and oil leases. You can get it Higher.

2 weeks ago, in NW Chicago at the lakefront, BP Regular Unleaded was $5.35 per gallon. I forgot what Ultimate was, somewhere around $5.75. I won't be near the gas station again for a couple weeks. Glad I don't drive, but have to pay for everything that is brought to the stores & restaurants. Favorite local pizza place closed down with no warning.

Houston and southern New Hampshire about the same, this administration is young yet and the feeling before it is all said and done regular will double in price again. That is real ugly but looks like current policy will become a runnaway train.

Just this morning there was a story on the local news this morning (Monday, June 6, 2022) that said the BEST PRICE in Reno was $5.61.
Just Googled Gas price in Reno and it came up with an AVERAGE of $5.65. (No idea of when that was.)
By comparison, about 20 miles south of us is Carson City, where the lowest today is $5.13 and average is $5.31.
The difference is not taxation. They simply do not have $0.52 less tax per gallon. LOL

$4.55 for regular, in Beaverdam Virginia. That is at a country store where gas is usually cheaper than off the interstate and larger towns, here.

Could be the cost of land and other overhead.

Could be.
Never thought of that.
The cheapest gas in Nevada is in Austin.
Population 101.
Halfway between California and Utah, on Hwy 50 - know as "The Loneliest Highway in America."

So, gas is cheaper in other countries, where Biden is not President, right?
Meanwhile, Exxon/Mobil is posting record profits.

I did not look into the Biden part, but it is true not only Exxon/Mobil and other US oil companys are doing quite well as we struggle with higher prices at the pump.
