So NYRA is not paying for health insurance for people who can't work all the way to 65, but who are crucial to the safety of the jockeys and horses?
They need to step up and extend the coverage.

Then its up to the government......

If the NYRA can make money hand over fist thanks to the casino, and if the horsemen can get almost $100,000 purses for allowance and maiden races, then the starters who get beat up in the gate for 25+ years in order to retire should get bridge health coverage.
As far as I’m concerned, if the assistant starters are on strike then placing a bet on a NYRA race is the same as crossing a picket line. And I’m not doing that.
