i keep going over and over this very puzzling race.. if FIERCENESS is 100% he is probably an easy winner. i am going to guess there are good knocks on him.
i make the Fair Grounds as the place to be this year for 3 year olds. i did like HONOR MARIE, but he might be to far back to get the job done. i got some knocks on CATCHING FREEDOM as well.
i am going to stick with Fair Grounds and switch my selection to TRACK PHANTOM, hoping the blinkers makes him the speed of speed and gets him right to the front in this race.

Derby day play-along thread
Good morning! I'm like a kid at Christmas up in here. Santa and Rudolph ate the cookies and carrots I put out last night after staying up late with exactas and trifectas dancing in my head.
Having obsessed about the big race for a week, so I should have some time to post about the undercard, although I need to get cracking. I'm jacked up on coffee, in the cockpit, on rainy day. Less incentive for the missus to insist I leave the house, although we are having folks over for the feature.
The play-along thread is one of my favorite PA traditions, so wanted to indulge myself in launching one this year, even though I don't have anything at the moment, and I'll probably skip the non-graded fare.
We've got a companion thread on yesterday's results and today's track conditions.
Happy Derby day!

I just logged on to start this thread lol I'll play some of the stakes. I just handicapped the 6th. I like the Three Witches and Vahva for an Exacta and I'll add Red Carpet Ready for a tri both bets boxed. I'll wait until I see the pools to decide how much to wager and I might add all three into an Exacta box as well. The appears to be on the improve with the new connections. I think the turns the tables on Alava Star. The Red Carpet Ready was inside last out and got into a fast early pace and backed up in the stretch. She's outside today and I think she runs a smarter race today.

Ugh. I'm not the moderator, but I started a play-along thread simultaneously in the Triple Crown section. I invite you over there!

My Father loved the horse who ran second to the favorite in their last race so with that I will go with a long shot Catalytic , Jose Ortiz at currently 33-1, if everyone loves the as they do , this horse must be included. Was second to the in the Florida derby in last race, a race that produces alot of winners in the derby. Comment hit the gate 4 wide and still was second. good luck everyone

Allowed to crawl along up front, but finished strong after a :49+ split with 1:36 and change and 1:43 and change in easy fashion.
Should be a threat in the Summer derbies.
