They are doing this so you can tell the difference between the dirt track and the turf course. Color alone has been enough in recent yearrs.

It's not a quote. The quote is "rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic." It's actually trite and boorish, but to each their own.

I'm not exactly clear on the OP's intent on the thread title, but I must say after playing CD on Saturday evening and picking several winners, I like the new dirt surface.

Now I just hope it's the beginning of a trend, and not a one day fluke. My historical performance of wagering on races at Churchill over the last 40 years is abysmal.
