Race 3
Charmander Broke a length slow from the 11 gate then raced three wide without cover, took the lead early in the stretch while in the 5 path, then One Heart One clipped his back legs and still just gave way to Smart Beauty with 30 metres to go. Purton has decided to stay on and gets a better draw than last. Dragon Pride loves running in Class 5, Superb Move beaten favourite and gets Bowman back on, Arthur's Kingdom has had two troubled trips in a row and was gaining late in last.

, Charmander, is another strong play for me, coming off of a particular angle his last race. Win and exotics with , Smart Beauty.


But McNamara has the 3 as his best bet for the day and the 12 is Chapman's top paddock pick. HUGE obstacles to overcome.

Race 4
Champion Instinct held off Patch of Theta who beat the third place runner easily and has since come back and ran a very game second in his next race. The extra seven pounds shouldn't be an issue. Lifeline Express beaten chalk in his last out, Packing Prospect was bet down to 5-1 in his debut while having all kinds of issues at the start. Speed Sword dropping in class and picking up Bowman. None of the first timers are getting any action at the windows of yet.

Spicy Gold - IMO a victim of the bias on 2/12 but it's tricky.
Call Me Glorious - TRIALS say GO!

Race 5
Geneva was bet down as the 4-5 betting choice in his debut, settled in the fourth flight two wide while over racing while in traffic in the turn, moved out to the five patch but was just a little short and was unable to chase down the winner who had a 6 pound advantage. Draws in good again here. Must Go improved in his last with the addition of a tongue tie but draws in with the far outside post with the short run to the turn going 6. Call Me Glorious first timer was given a fitness rating but with a poor draw. Telecom Dragon usually gives a good effort and Sunny Da Best picks up Purton for his debut but gets the rail.

Race 6
Smart Fighter in his first 7 races he's drawn a gate 11 or farther out 5 times, was three wide without cover while racing mid-pack in the turn, took control of the lead with 200 to go but couldn't fend off the 33-1 winner Panda Legend that raced underneath him in the turn. Moving down to barrier three here. Unfortunately he's hovering around even money right now. Second to None beaten favourite in last while encountering a couple issues but drew in here with the 11 gate. Circuit Mighty has had 4 straight races that he's either wide or found trouble at the break.

Race 7 GI Hong Kong Gold Cup
Voyage Bubble won for fun in his last over Beauty Eternal, the farther he goes the better he gets. Should get a nice forward stalking position watching the chalk that will have to be used early to get over from the 11 barrier. Playing that the favourite is a little short. Romantic Warrior had two difficult races before his break of 77 days, tough to overcome that outside draw. Straight Arron was gaining at 1.800 after a troubled trip and is getting an extra 200 to run at. Encountered gets in with a better draw than his last two. Money Catcher will most likely set the pace.

, Romantic Warrior, is clearly better than these, IMO. No value with , Voyage Bubble, or, even, , Straight Arron.



I thought , FIve G Patch, was probably better than Straight Arron last time - though both had trouble and cost me a nice quinella.



I never thought much of , Champion Dragon, but he made the lead at a key point last time out and he should do the same today. Maybe he holds on for 2nd.

Race 8
Beauty Live has drawn in with a horrible draw (#13) and after having two wide trips in his last two races, but he loves running in Class 3 with 3 wins and a second out of five races. Can't stand the rider but at 40-1 I will take a stab. Beato won for fun in his last against lesser and is taking the jump in class where he's yet to run in the money.

Agree with Teetan, but the 2.400 might have been just a little too far for him against GI types that day he lost with Zac on.

Hardly a formidable field. And Purton (or the connections) decided to send him with Money Catcher in the race? So, MC stalks and then goes after RW with ~700M to the finish. Yeah, RW dusted MC but that meant he was asked too soon and for too long and that just set it up for the gutless Russian Emperor.

Smart Fighter was too low in odds and I passed the race.

Hard to make sense of why Amazing Victory was the favorite. No value. Bowman certainly didn't ride with any sense of urgency.
