I bought tickets for the first Delmar Breeders Cup and I had to sell them at the last minute because I couldn’t get off work. I luckily sold them for about 3/4’s what I paid for them. That was a month beforehand. A week beforehand they were going for next to nothing. It would be tough for me to make last minute travel plans from Baltimore. If you can wait until a few weeks before the event you can probably score tickets much cheaper than you’ll pay now.

I had a friend years ago pay a huge amount for earliest tickets you could get on the secondary market for Burning Man, as somehow everyone feared it would sell out. He paid like $2500 for a pair, a couple days before they were selling for $100 each. It wasn't like the guy was made of money either.

Although heard April is also a gorgeous time to go.

Spent a week in Lexington in 2015 and 2022 during BCs.

Beautiful area, beautiful people, beautiful track, beautiful farms and horses.

Also greatest library in world.

I even ate Burgoo at Keeneland on advice of friendly waitress. Delicious.

Can't wait to go back.

Spring is great esp if you’re from cold weather area (I realize you aren’t). Weather can be iffy but still a great time to be there. I think the day to day racing is a little better also v the fall meet.

True. Was there opening weekend (Blue Grass) and it was cold on Friday but better the next two days. Full crowds and real good racing. Best place to be.

I think a week at Saratoga, Oaklawn, or Del Mar could have the same effect.
