the place gives away $150,000 a day in purses to people that wouldn't be paid $15 an hour doing anything else. on top of that the money that you give away leaves the state and is never spent here to go into the local economy.
this isn't sour grapes, but when i worked there 25 years ago, i was bringing in $8 million dollar days in total handle on the weekends during the summer. when i quit, not let go the place slowly went to hell.
today in one of your highlighted $17,000 races you managed to do a win pool of $2500 and an exacta pool of $3500.
just to cut to the chase, the place does not deserve to have a racing or slot machine license. the money that you extract from people sitting in front of slot machines brings more harm than the amount of revenue you bring the state. there is probably better use of the land there.
