The worst thing is the "oooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" that accompanies every spill. You can be in the john and instantly know a horse went down.

I still clearly remember Kentucky Derby Day, 1991, at the Birmingham Turf Club, when I was cursed by a loud drunk who began bellowing out my my key horse's number as soon as the gate opened. For a stretch of five out of six races, he was cheering for my nag, none of which even hit the board. It's bad enough to lose 5 races, but to know you're dead in the water 5 seconds into the race is just disheartening....
I suppose that I have heard many of these phrases at the track so often that I have become numb to them, which is why I still love going to the track as opposed to wagering through an ADW from my living room.

The color of the personalities at the track -- the atmosphere -- beats the comfort of home.

....Or the newcomer who cashes a few in a row and says" Wow how long has this place been open?"

The Change "I ****ing Knew it"

The Average race 20 some odd Minutes----He is still saying it.

Finally I said Thats It-No Mo; bets if your stuck bitching in the prior race

How about "The Narrator"? You know, the guy who is incapable of having an unexpressed thought. He handicaps aloud. He doesn't shut up during the race, and you always know exactly how much he's up or down.

These guys can ruin your day. Instead of concentrating on 'capping and betting, you spend your time rooting against him and thinking of ways to kill him.

There's also the sore loser.....

I know a guy at EvD who chastises winners,
"Oh you had that one huh? What did ya win...$35 bucks?"
Now, he has a point. Some folks scream like bloody murder for their 4-1 shot to win so they can cash their $5 win bet.
I'll never forget him getting on my case when Thor's Echo and Street Sense won in the BC, both at good mutuels (each paid about $30 to win)...and I had more than a fiver on them.
Sucker...

There's a guy who's handicapping is so good, he'd win 100% of the time.

Unfortunately after some(most) races he whines loudly "Did you see the ride I got by the #*&% jockey? He cost me the race."

"He finished 6th." Someone points out.

"If the jockey didn't ride like a moron, he would've won."

When they yell " One Time " I wonder what line they will they use next time- It can't be " One Time " because they already used up that " One Time ".

Yelling the horse's number. Example= "Die 6, Die, c'mon you, SOB, die."

This one gets me. Hear it a lot.
