Cuomo screws up and it becomes easy to pile on him, I expect we'd see a lot of that. Half truths are the worst way to bias something as you can't argue with the individual items, but were the full story there, the interpretation would be completely different.
i don't know if we will ever get the full story. At this point,I have to hope the Governor does the right thing, but I have my doubts. It looks like racing is being phased out in favor of the casino's.

They needed to break the franchise agreement to do this. It specifies the govt cannot touch the racing property. I have no doubt that will be changed now. Just hope that the current board got some concessions going forward and that is why they caved so quickly. It will all come out eventually, but probably not until most people have forgotten all the details

Let's see one by one with all these "damning" facts

NYRA parted ways with Genting and Genting. True. The NYS Comptroller not only approved of it but recommended it.
I believe Genting is the Casino Operator and Getnick is the law firm who prepared the report.
Quote:
NYRA closed detention barns. True. No other jurisdiction used detention barns. Further, NYRA instituted a new procedure with their own vets being the only ones allowed to give pre race medication and the conducting of out of competition testing. Wonder how many other jurisdictions have those things....

NYRA had a corruption report prepared for it and has stalled releasing certain documents. True. The report however was released to the entire board. The board has state appointed members, several in fact. Thus, the state already has this report so wheree's the problem? I mean you know those state officials are right there working hard every day in the player's best interest.
Are board members appointed by the state required/expected to report back to those who appoint them or are they appointed to use their judgement in that position with the same privacy restraints imposed on non-state-appointed board members? I suspect the latter is true, or else NYRA would not be continually castigated for not being forthcoming. Is it possible that you're being disingenous here?
Quote:
NYRA allowed back an "offshore" betting firm. True. They had banned at least 10 of these as pointed out. They didn't let the other 9 come back. Wonder why? Could it have been that the firm maybe cleaned up it's practices or that they weren't in violation in the first place? Should they have turned down legitimate business? I love how these are called offshore too when many operate through Idaho.

I've always thought the person with his head in the sand was the one who parroted information without knowing the facts on both sides.
Something tells me there's several sides to most NYRA stories, and I'll take Joe Drape's over yours any day.

Really. At this point, its all done, takeover, etc. Have to deal with it. What more can one add?

The old saying, "if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem", doesn't hold. In this case, as usual, we're neither, we're simply "at the mercy of." Once again.

If you want people to continue debating with you, an attitude adjustment on your part will be necessary.

I think the history between OA and myself precludes any adjustment in attitude or anything else.

Well, you are actually right for once.

You are welcome to Drape any time you want him. You are two of a kind.

Tell me genius, what is the point of having government appointees if they aren't reporting back to their masters? The point of all this is just how lousy any oversight has been and these people are just as guilty, but they will get off scott free. Is it possible you are being simply clueless here? Wouldn't be anything new.

I'd hate him even if I agreed with him. This is the guy that blamed several PA members for getting slandered in the most vile way over on John Pricci's site a year or two ago when Pricci didn't take adequate measures to safeguard his site. This is also the guy that approved of andymays bring up Ray Paulick's past drug problems to try to slam him over his opinions. He's pure class all the way. If I was getting along with a guy like this, something would be wrong with me.

Sorry but you didn't answer my tax question it was conveniently sidestepped. Did you write a letter to the district attorney in the county of your residence asking that charges be filed? Probably not he's your friend and defended by you. Isn't it a double standard when you say the same thing about NYRA supporters?

Besides ranting on here did you take your concerns to the next level? If your really concerned about people shutting you up that should have been done immediately.

Prosecution rests with the right to redirect.
What are you talking about? you asked people who violated sales tax laws and I answered at least here in Nebraska people do get prosecuted for it. The AG's office does it. Am I cop going around checking on merchants? No. But they have them. If you had ever been in a management position for a retail business, you know that. For the record I did not know about his tax fraud until the court case was over. I had no problem with them prosecuting him. He plead guilty and paid a fine. Case Closed.
I am a frequent poster in the off topics side. As to Corzine being a crook, you are wrong about the number. My post are there for everybody to see. You shouldn't assume such things. It cuts into your credibility.

OA is himself a master of the half-truth; a capability he hypocritically ascribes to Drape.

I’ll let OA’s performances in the HRI/Pricci-condemnation threads speak for themselves, especially since he’s trying to bait me into saying something he’s hoping will get me banned.

I’ll also let readers judge my response to Paulick’s own prior post in Andy’s thread for themselves. Readers should be aware that Paulick’s earlier hit piece on Jeff P had left a bad taste in many boycotters’ mouths. Even in his piece I just quoted from in this thread, Paulick painted a one-sided picture of Bennett Liebman that upset several commenters on his site. I feel that the roles of all state appointees involved merit investigation, but I hope Liebman walks away with his reputation intact.

Getting back to the master hater/baiter here, these outbursts of his never fail to show his serpentine side; one I hadn’t witnessed until those HRI/Pricci threads. I once had as good an opinion of him as it’s possible to have in cyberspace, but now I find his pettiness, condescending attitude, and disingenuousness very tiresome.

Your getting banned isn't up to me, nor have I ever tried to goad you into anything. That would be your own self importance talking again. I've merely stated the whole truth about what you are. If that causes problems for you, I frankly don't care. I have no problem with anyone here judging me on what I've said or done.

Your version of the truth increasingly leaves a lot to be desired.
