I almost didn't recognize her as she walked toward me with her friend.
It was the first time I had ever seen her in street clothes and
even out of uniform... my heart beat a little faster when our eyes met.

"Joy, I have followed your career for... 30 years."
"That's right," she smiled and said proudly, "it's been 30 years!"

Admire her if you like, that is cool, but there is a reason she doesn't get mounts. Wait, did I get sucked in? Was this just a "bad acting" job in the initial post.

She rides Leyva Man in the first race on Thursday, this is one of the better horses talentwise that she rides, lets see if Joy can get the cash!

In the summer time when she rode at Del Mar she lived down the street from my house. In the late 80's she would light up the tote board on winners paying double digit odds.

Thanks Joy for bringing in Leyva Man in the final race of the day (Feb 10) as I hit the late P-4 when I single your horse on the final leg.

I'm not sure I have ever cashed a bet on a Joy Scott mount. I give her lots of credit for making me believe that jockeys do matter....
